Who can get a library card?
Free library cards are available to all residents of Mount Laurel, as well as those who own property or attend a K-12 school in the township. Free library cards are also available to educators who teach in Mount Laurel and to Township employees who live outside of Mount Laurel.
- For proof of residency, you will need either a driver’s license, automobile registration, or a letter that has been mailed to you. No business cards.
- For proof of property owned, you will need a tax bill as well as proof of your current home address.
- For proof of school attendance, you will need your school ID.
Library cards are issued to residents from birth. A parent or legal guardian must co-sign application forms for customers under the age of 18.
Ask for a registration form at the Check Out Desk or complete an online application.

Library cards are also available for purchase as follows:
- Non-residents who work in Mount Laurel may purchase a “Works in Mount Laurel” Library card for an annual fee of $45.
- Non-residents may purchase a library card for $90 a year or $25 for 3 months.

How do I print an email?
To print an email message or attachment, simply forward your email to

- The system will print the email and attachment separately. You do not have to print the email if only the attachment is needed.
- Please preview your job to ensure it is correct.
- You will be sent a confirmation email message.
- Use your email address to retrieve your documents.
The Library offers three study rooms, each for 1-6 people. Library customers with an email address may reserve a room up to 14 days in advance.
Important! Please be sure to verify your email address the first time you reserve a room so you can receive confirmations and cancel unnecessary reservations yourself.
Room requirements:
- Maximum of 2 hours per session. Maximum of 2 sessions per day.
- A maximum of 6 advanced reservations may be made.
- Customers using the room without a reservation will be asked to leave.
- The person reserving the room must be 14 or older.
- The room must be left in a clean condition.
- Noise level must not disturb other library users or be heard outside of the study room.
- Lights must remain on in the room.
- Reservations are held for 15 minutes, after which the room can be given to another customer.

The Library offers a public meeting room with a capacity of 100, which may be divided into two rooms. A smaller room is available for groups of 10 or fewer.
Customers looking for private rooms for up to 6 people should schedule a Group Study Room through our online system. We do not have private rooms for larger groups.
Before requesting meeting space, please read the Library Meeting Room Policy and the information below carefully.
Please note:
- You will need an email address that you check regularly to receive meeting room correspondence and confirmations.
- Requests must be made at least one week before the meeting date.
- Dates will not be checked without submission of the online form.
- The Library meeting room is available to non-profit organizations for any public function of an informational, educational, cultural, or civic nature, including political programs. Programs presented as informational, educational, or instructional must remain so, and presenters shall make no direct solicitation of attendees to secure clients or customers for their commercial purpose. Meetings planned to promote, advertise, or lead to the sale of a product or service are not permitted.
- All meetings must be free and open to the public.
- The group using the room is responsible for set-up and clean-up. Library staff will not assist in setting up Meeting Rooms.
- Please include set-up/clean-up time in your reservation request. Rooms will not be available earlier than requested for set-up.
- Groups must be out of the rooms on time.
Non-profit groups may request reservations for the meeting rooms up to 90 days in advance.

Here’s how it works:
1. Place item(s) on hold either by using our online catalog or by calling the library 856-234-7319 option 4.
2. When items you have requested are ready, we will notify you by email, text or phone.
3. Go to the library with your library card number and follow the signs to park in one of the designated parking spots for our Contactless Curbside Pickup.
4. Text “Check In” to 856-245-0430 and you will be asked to respond with your name and library card number.
5. If you are unable to send a text message, you may call 856-234-7319 option 3 for assistance.
6. We will check out your items, put them in a bag with your receipt, bring them out, and place them on a table outside in a bag with your last name written on the front for you to retrieve. This may take a few moments.
Curbside Pickup will be available during library open hours, event and weather permitting.
Pick up your holds, inside or out!
Outdoor pickup lockers have arrived. Now you can pick up your hold anytime just by selecting your pick up location when making a request.
If you are placing the request in the online catalog or library app, select your pickup location.
If you have pending requests, you can use My Account to change the pickup location up until the time that the item is actually on the Hold Shelf.
When your item is ready to be picked up, you will key in or scan your library card number and PIN. You can also use your barcode in our App. When the door to the locker opens, ALL items are automatically checked out to you. Please be sure to take all items. You will have options to get a printed receipt, email or text and you’re all set!

Computer Help Guidelines
Providing instruction in how to use and evaluate informational resources is part of the Library’s role. The Library staff is available to help identify appropriate resources and to provide assistance in their use. Staff will devote a reasonable amount of time assisting individual library patrons with computers when needed. Computer assistance availability depends on library activity and the staff on duty’s knowledge.

One-on-one instruction on our PCs is available in 1/2 hour appointments for:
- Getting started on the PC
- Email set up
- Introduction to the Internet
Help is also available for getting started with downloading ebooks and audiobooks. You must be familiar with your device, your app store, and know your passwords for this appointment. Librarians cannot be familiar with every electronic device on the market.
- You must be comfortable using a mouse and keyboard to schedule a PC appointment.
- Mouse practice can be included in a beginner lesson.

- Printing can be done from our computers or your device via our wireless print service. Black & white: $.10. Color: $.25. Printing is cash only.
- Photocopies: $.15 per copy/side.
- Scan to flash drive or email address. Scanning is free.
- Faxing is self-service and requires a credit or debit card. Our fax machine does not provide a confirmation slip but you can request a confirmation text for an additional charge. Domestic faxes are $1.75 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional page.
